A definite favorite since it was released in 2002, my father swore at the time that the title track "Millionaire" was an absolute hit song. Fast-forward to 2017, I'm driving in my car and hear this very song on the radio as sung by none-other-than Chris Stapleton. But Kevin Welch's album "Millionaire" is much more than its FM-radio friendly sunshine-laced title track initially delivers. It has moments of poetic brilliance such as on the song "Witness", rock n roll almost Neil Young with Crazy Horse-esque grunge, garage band mastery, and mandolin and acoustic guitars mixed into electric sounds perfectly. Its a family favorite end to end. Universal in message, tone, and sound, masterfully recorded, plenty of hooks. A true Americana masterwork.
