Deep Stacks No. 5 - Cigar Store Indians Revisited

“SELF-TITLED”, “EL BAILE DE LA COBRA”, “GUESTLIST” - CIGAR STORE INDIANS

I discovered this band as a teenager in middle and high school, attending sold out shows at with crowds swing dancing and singing all the words. Addictive, ear-worms, a la early Lennon-McCartney, Buddy Holly, Everly Brothers, or the like, sung by an Elvis or Johnny Horton-tinged kind of hard-rock meets true country, ultimate bar band in a time capsule type front man that I truly hold in a hero's light. In a word: Rock-a-billy. These songs have been stuck in my head so firmly that even after not hearing these records for years I can sing most the tunes word for word, note for note. Join us as we reminisce over the Cigar Store Indians.
