“ENDLESS BOOGIE” - JOHN LEE HOOKER

Among Blues legends, John Lee Hooker, stands out for me as an all-time favorite, for his iconic voice, raw unfiltered presence, and range as a storyteller, his voice as a master singer, and his driving, soulful rhythm guitar playing. An great entertainer as much as a trendsetting songwriter who contributed to the explosion of blues-inspired collaborations and imitations of the 1960's and 70's, Hooker's album "Endless Boogie" is my favorite album although his entire catalog including the 1971 collaboration with Canned Heat "Hooker N Heat", his follow-up 1972 album "Never Get Out Of These Blues Alive", and his late-life star-studded Grammy-winning album "The Healer", featuring a duet with life-long mega fan Bonnie Raitt are all highlights of his historic career.
